Barry Thomason is the owner of Thomason Financial Services and helps clients and families with their retirement planning by educating them on how to properly plan for life’s unexpected events. He has been in the investment industry since 2007 and held prior positions at New York Life, Mass Mutual and Ameritas.
Earlier in his career, he was a chiropractor and owned Thomason Family Chiropractic in Chewelah. During that time, he believed that his most important job was teaching people how to take care of their bodies and live a healthy lifestyle. Now, as a financial advisor, he believes his most important function is to teach people how to care for their financial life and be prepared for the future.
Barry attended Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University. He then served a two-year church mission in Chicago and afterward finished his undergraduate work at Brigham Young University. He attended Life West Chiropractic College in California, where he graduated summa cum laude with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.
He has completed courses from The American College that make him knowledgeable in ethics and financial services; the foundations of retirement, investment, and legacy planning; and the essentials of business insurance and life insurance products. This gives him the experience to provide various perspectives on financial planning and make recommendations as he constructs comprehensive financial plans that are individualized to each client. He has obtained securities licenses, including the Series 6, 62, 63, and 65. Barry is licensed to do business in six states: Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Utah, and Arizona.
He is happily married to his wife, Avery, and they have six children (five girls and one boy). They love spending time doing things outdoors together as a family. In the neighborhood, they have been referred to as “the running family.”
Barry is involved with his local church and served 10 years as a Boy Scout leader. He is also very involved with the Chewelah Chamber of Commerce having served as vice president and president, and he’s a member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
